It was my aim to prepare a tutor-book that would not be too difficult in the initial stages of study and, at the same time, contain musical and didactic material indispensable for a proper and systematic mastery of the instrument as well as the shaping of the student's musical sensitivity. I attempted to grade the difficulties at the level of the average student. I also tried to arrange the problems presented in the material of the book in such a way that they would enable the student to absorb the first principles of playing and at the same time afford as much pleasure and satisfaction as possible.
