fur unaccompanied mixed choir
The piece is a result of being astounded by the Book of Kohelet – its’ ambiguity and at times even subversiveness. Especially the central term, hevel, usually translated as vanity turns out to have a deeper meaning; it can mean emptiness or void, as well as breath.
It was written in 2021 on commission by The Camerata Silesia and Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra in Katowice.
